Community Centre Needed

Sovereign Harbour

Introduction

Sovereign Harbour is a great place to live, but it lacks some of the social infrastructure necessary to turn a large residential area into a centred and sustainable community.

As a Sovereign Harbour householder you have an essential part to play in ensuring the continuing success of our community, through appropriate growth, for the benefit of your fellow householders and marina visitors alike.

The Sovereign Harbour Residents Association (SHRA) exists to help achieve this aim by consolidating and representing the views of the entire Harbour community, and undertakes to canvass residents to be sure that it always truly represents the view of the majority.

Issues

The Association works hard to communicate, address and resolve issues with a wide variety of individuals, companies, organisations and local and national government bodies.

If you have an issue you would like to discuss, please contact SHRA.

Concerns

Concerns we have raised include:

• No more residential development.
• No more flats.
• No B&Q Superstore.
• A purpose built medical centre.
• A purpose built and adequately funded community centre.
• Fair and transparent flood protection charges.
• A Community Council.
• A cross-harbour bus lane and more frequent bus services.
• Appropriate development of the Eleven Sites.
• Parking, speeding and road adoption.
• Finalisation of the ‘Marina Village’ concept and the business park.
• Provision of appropriate open spaces.
• Bridge raising times.
• Litter and dog fouling.

Communications

The Association undertakes to canvass residents to be sure that it always truly represents the view of the majority.

The Association keeps residents informed of its work and Harbour issues and events via its:
