The Sovereign Harbour Art Group has now been active for over a year and would like to encourage new members. The group is holding free, informal open mornings for anybody who would like to call in and see some local artists in action. Call in to Christ the King church hall from 9:30 -12:30 on Thursday morning until the end of October. Tea and coffee will be available
The Sovereign Harbour Art Group held its first public exhibition at the Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club on Saturday 8th December 2007.
The Sovereign Harbour Art Group held its second public exhibition at the Winter Gardens on Thursday 27th March 2008.
The latest Art Group exhibition was held at a very wet and windy RNLI Regatta weekend in August 2008.
The
group is also producing a 2009 desktop calendar showing artwork of the
group. The calendar will be all images of Sovereign Harbour and will be
available from sometime during October. Look out for details in Waterlines.

The Sovereign Harbour Art Group is made up of local 'artists' of varying abilities.
The class fee is £10.00 per person for each three hour lesson, which covers Hall Hire costs, tuition Fees and tea/coffee.
If you are interested, there are still a few places available.

The
group is also considering evening classes on ‘Learning To Paint With
Acrylics’. Subject to response, the course will initially be for
six weeks, starting on Wednesday 24th September, 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Christ
The King Church Hall. Advance booking would be essential and places are
open to harbour and non-harbour residents, at a cost of £60 for
six, three hour lessons. Beginners are very welcome.
Outdoor
painting classes will be held during the summer (weather permitting)
Learn to paint with Acrylics, Oils Watercolours and Pastels with an Experienced Art Tutor in a friendly, relaxed and enjoyable environment.
The group is open to all Harbour and Non-Harbour residents. Bring your own subject to work from, or a still life can be set up on the day.
Art materials are not provided so you will need to bring along your own.
